Overview
The BituBale® system is a new patented technology whereby bitumen is encapsulated in a Polymer film for transporting in cold form.
The base bitumen enters the process system at approx 120 deg C and is cooled in the Cooling and Conditioning vessel to between 70 and 80 deg C. During cooling the bitumen is continuously agitated utilizing a 4-tier piston driven hydraulically.
Once the desired temperature is reached, the product is transferred to the dispensing tank where it is dispensed into a polymer film tube to form a bitumen strip of approx. 300mm wide x 11mm thick by 8m long.
The strips are dispensed into a water conveyor where they are cooled by the continuously re-circulated water. The water conveyor is utilized to propel/transfer the trip into the baling section.
In the baling section the strip is rolled into a circular bale and hooded with a further Polymer film on both its side.
Each bale is weighted between 25 to 30kg. The bales are grouped into larger packs of 450kg before being group hooded with Polymer film again to keep it secure during transportation. The 450kg group is then packed into PP bags for transportation.
